Grantmaking Goes Catalytic
Overview

Amidst multiple global crises, foundations play a pivotal role in  supporting social enterprises and catalysing impact for people and planet.  Catalytic grantmaking is one among many tools available to foundations to generate effective and long-term impact, but it takes in-depth practitioner knowledge to understand these tools and their nuances.

As part of a series of e-talks in partnership with Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, and building on the first e-talk on “Granting to develop, not deter, enterprise”, EVPA is now hosting a second session to continue the conversation on catalytic grantmaking.

Catalytic grantmaking has driven Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo to expand their impact finance toolbox. As one of Europe’s leading foundations and a catalytic grant-maker, the organisation is committed to supporting three core areas: people, planet and culture in northwestern Italy. To maximise the impact of their funding in these areas, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo has launched a comprehensive toolbox, incorporating various capacity building and impact financing tools built upon their experience – and these are the insights they’ll share during the e-talk.
Through engaging and interactive discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how to effectively enhance impact through catalytic grantmaking across Europe.

The session will be followed by an engaging activity during our upcoming Impact Week 2023, where participants will have further opportunities to exchange ideas and strengthen collaboration towards a more impactful future.
