Foundations play a vital role in society, supporting long-term change and social innovation. They provide a socially focused counterbalance to other actors in local, national and regional ecosystems, and are a key component of the continuum of capital.

EVPA supports foundations to build their knowledge, confidence and expertise to make use of the many tools available to them.

To further strengthen the position of foundations within EVPA’s impact finance community and in the context of Impact Week 2023 where catalytic capital will feature as a red thread, we are excited to announce a new partnership with the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo (CSP).

Leveraging CSP’s long tradition of building resilient and sustainable communities and support to innovation, this partnership will focus on sharing the best in catalytic grantmaking across Europe. We look forward to seeing the impact of this partnership and its activities within our shared network and beyond.

Join us at our upcoming series of gatherings on catalytic grantmaking:

  • Our first joint activity will be an e-talk in May on Granting to develop, not deter, enterprise” . This interactive one-hour session will bring together practitioners to discuss best practices and real-life examples for facilitating enterprise growth and impact through grants. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the principles of catalytic grantmaking, including different opportunities and risks, as well as dos and don'ts.
  • Our second activity will be an e-talk in October on Catalytic Grantmaking where stakeholders from Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo will share their perspectives. They will explain why they chose the long-term path, how they tackled challenges, filled gaps, worked in collaboration with different stakeholders and built capacity for organisations’ sustainable development.

Compagnia di San Paolo, as anchor partner of EVPA Impact Week 2023 in Torino together with Fondazione CRT, will be present to discuss a number of topics, including catalytic grantmaking, with the wider impact ecosystem during Impact Week.
