Gold Standard

Gold Standard is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, established in 2003 by WWF and other international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to ensure projects that reduce carbon emissions feature the highest levels of environmental integrity and contribute to sustainable development. With the adoption of the Paris Climate Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Gold Standard launched a best practice standard to manage and measure impacts for climate and sustainability interventions with applications for projects and investment portfolios, the Gold Standard for the Global Goals.

To date Gold Standard has 3,417 projects and 3 impact funds underway in over 100 countries, reducing more than 304 million tons of CO2 equivalent. Gold Standard-certified projects have created over $46 Billion in shared value for climate action and sustainable development.
