SEED is a global partnership for action on sustainable development and the green economy. They work with partners at the national and international level to enhance the quality and capacities of Business Development Service (BDS) providers. SEED does this through the provision of toolkits, the implementation of training of trainers and the co-development of an international standard for BDS providers. They support innovative small-scale and locally driven entrepreneurs around the globe who integrate social and environmental benefits into their business model from the outset.
Their many diverse activities go from 'Fostering enterprise development' to 'Shaping green and inclusive policies', from an 'Impact Financing Lab' to a 'SEED Awards scheme' that provides small grants to eco-inclusive SMEs. They hope to increase the flow of investment to these enterprises and to contribute to the creation of suitable financial products. Furthermore, they hope to contribute their experiences from working with impact investors and financial institutions to establish increased connection and collaboration between enterprises and financiers.
