The European Crowdfunding Network (EUROCROWD) and EVPA are partnering to amplify their respective networks and strengthen their position in the European impact finance space.

Start-ups and SMEs have to meet a wide range of requirements and a fragmented investment market when they look for investors. This is often a significant obstacle for social entrepreneurs in particular.

Building on existing synergies between investors for impact and crowdfunding platforms, EUROCROWD and EVPA aim to further promote good practices and improve the knowledge, skills and capacities of their respective member organisations and wider audiences. This effort is part of a wider partnership that also includes microfinance providers and their network, the Microfinance Centre.

“Crowdfunding platforms play a catalyst role in creating positive social impact and attracting retail investors to social innovation”, said Roberta Bosurgi, EVPA CEO. “We look forward to collaborating with EUROCROWD to maximise their impact and enable synergies between impact crowdfunding platforms and other investors for impact, such as foundations or impact funds”.

“We are very proud to join forces with EVPA in formalising our longstanding cooperation between the venture philanthropy and crowdfunding ecosystems. EVPA has played an important role in professionalising value private based finance and specifically venture philanthropy and social investments since 2004. Today a large number of crowdfunding platforms are active in this area too, creating more opportunities to achieve societal impact though public offerings. We believe that there is even bigger opportunity due to the new crowdfunding regulation and look forward to exploit relevant opportunities jointly with EVPA and their members”, said Oliver Gajda, executive director of EUROCROWD.

EVPA, the investing for impact community, is a unique network at the intersection of business and purpose, driven by knowledge and focused on impact. We work to increase prosperity and social progress for all, fix inequalities and injustices and preserve the planet. We rally people, capital, knowledge, and data to catalyse, innovate and scale impact. EVPA brings together a diverse group of capital providers (impact funds, corporations, foundations, private equity, banks, public funders) and social innovators of all sorts – from household names to emerging new players.
